Mel has practiced as a lawyer for eleven years and worked in house for eight across multiple industries including aviation, infrastructure, financial services and now, cloud computing.
She is a passionate advocate for all things in house and shares career insights to over 5k followers on Instagram, 11k followers on LinkedIn and 10k on TikTok.
Mel has previously been awarded the Queensland Law Society’s In House Lawyer of the Year, Lawyers Weekly Corporate Counsel 30 Under 30 Award and Modern Counsel Global Legal Leaders Award.
She has served as a Member of the Association of Corporate Counsel National Conference Committee, as the In-House Advisor to the Women Lawyers Association Queensland and currently serves on the Board of the Centre for Legal Innovation Emerging Leaders Advisory Group.
She launched Counsel, a self-made podcast about in-house lawyer life, during Australia’s first COVID-19 lockdown in April 2020.
